MOST CURRENT REVIEWSI am so sorry this has taken me so long. i am back to reality...ugh!!My kids, dog and I had such a GREAT, RELAXING time at Herbie,s Hideaway!!!! It is so close to Rickette's Glen but still away from real life!!!!  I HIGHLY recommend staying here!! Very clean and comfortable and the owners are so helpful! 5 stars in my opinion!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Family and I spent a week at Herbie's Hideaway. Recommend it to anyone who likes nature and clean fun. Great for families especially with small children.  Also the ultimate hunters getaway.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Marie & Rich, We recently rented Herbie's Hideaway over the 4th of July holiday. The cabin was large enough to accommodate all 8 of us and we were able to bring our small beagle.  We had a great time. The kids enjoyed making s,mores out at the campfire.  It's just 10 minutes to Rickette's Glen State Park. We enjoyed hiking the Falls trail and swimming at Lake Jean. My son caught a 15 inch Brown trout in the creek behind the house. If you enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors this is the perfect place. We recommend Herbie's to outdoor lovers. Great location. We have vacationed here three years in a row because we love it so much. The house is quaint and cozy and offers all of the comforts of home. The wilderness surrounding the house is absolutely breathtaking and our daughter enjoys hanging out by the creek that runs behind the property.The property is close of a lot of attractions such as Rickette's Glen State Park, Benton, many restaurants and also antique stores and shopping such as the Red Rock Campground flea market that we enjoy every year. The owners Rich and Marie, are extremely nice people. They clearly care about their property and only rent to trusting families and no riff-raff, however still offer their guests extreme privacy.  It is the perfect vacation for my family because it offers us the comforts of home but also lets us get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.We will continue to stay at Herbie's Hideaway whenever we feel we need a getaway because it is the perfect vacation for us.
